Notes from the test, plus general guides for dog owners. Nothing gets written up until Remy's actually used it — guides are marked separately from test notes.

Why Some Dogs Eat Too Fast (and What Actually Helps)
Usually instinct or competition, not hunger — so more food rarely fixes it. What works is changing the mechanics of eating: a slow feeder bowl or puzzle feeder physically slows the pace down.
Do Dog Bandanas Actually Need to Be Washed Differently?
Not really — a normal cotton cycle works fine. What actually matters is frequency: bandanas pick up drool and grime fast, so washing every week or two (cold water, low heat) keeps them from holding onto odor and fading.
Football print from Brooks & Roo, tested in XL. Fit well right out of the package, and the polyester is genuinely lightweight and breathable. He didn't try to paw it off, which isn't always the case with bandanas.
WorkedAccurate XL sizing, lightweight material, comfortable enough that he left it alone.
Didn'tOnly had it a short time — can't speak to long-term wear yet.
Powerful suction, quiet, low enough to get under the couch without a fight. The FurFinder headlights aren't a gimmick — they show hair you'd otherwise completely miss.
Remy's currently wearing this one. Easy to size, sturdy metal buckle, ring for clipping a leash. Our one note: it's not reflective, so we'd add a light for after-dark walks.
WorkedEasy to adjust, sturdy buckle, holds up to normal walks.
Didn'tNo reflective element — pair with a clip-on light at night.
Tested on thick carpet, thin carpet, and hardwood. The rubber bristles pull embedded Lab hair out of the carpet in a way our vacuum just doesn't. Also doubles as a regular hardwood broom.
WorkedPulled hair the vacuum had already missed, plus a 58" handle so no hunching.
Didn'tThick carpet takes real effort — this one's a bit of a workout.
Tested on black felt couches (the hardest test for visibility), a regular couch, a comforter, and clothes. Actually picks up hair instead of just moving it around, no tape to replace.
WorkedReusable, no sticky tape, cleaned every surface we tried it on.
Didn'tTakes a few passes on heavy fur — works best with long strokes in one direction.
Rubber Broom vs Vacuum for Pet Hair: Which One Actually Works Better?
Use the vacuum for fast everyday cleaning. Bring out a rubber broom when you want to loosen hair still trapped deeper in rugs and carpet fibers. Best routine: vacuum first, rake the stubborn spots, vacuum again.
