We've been running with the Pack Leashes hands-free leash for about a month. Here's the honest version.

What we tested

The hands-free bungee leash. Remy is 70 lbs of pure pull, so this got a real workout on morning trail runs and regular neighborhood walks.

What worked

The bungee absorbed most of Remy's lunges without yanking my hip. That matters a lot at 6am when you're half asleep. The waist clip stayed put even on longer runs, and the quick-release worked exactly how it should when we passed other dogs.

Material feels solid. Not flimsy. Hardware looks like it'll actually hold up.

What didn't work

Leash length is fixed, which is fine for running but a little short when you want to give Remy slack to sniff around. Great for trail runs. For a casual stroll you might want more room.

Also took a few tries to get the waist fit dialed in right. Not a big deal, just worth knowing going in.

Remy's take

Approved. He didn't chew it — that's honestly the highest honor he gives anything.
