What we tested
As of June 2026, we tested the FURemover rubber broom on three surfaces where Remy's shedding does the most damage. The thick carpet in the living room was the main event because that is where hair hides deepest. We also ran it across a low-pile area rug and the hardwood hallway where fur tumbleweeds like to collect.
What worked
The FURemover rubber broom does something a vacuum cannot. The bristles grip the carpet fibers and drag hair up from the base of the pile. Hair rolls into a clump you can pick up.
It is also lightweight. The 58-inch telescopic handle means no hunching, and at around $20 it costs less than a single vacuum filter replacement.
What did not work
Deep-cleaning thick carpet is a workout. Getting the rubber bristles far enough into heavy pile to pull out embedded hair takes real back-and-forth pressure. On hardwood it is effortless. The carpet effort is the trade-off for how well it works there.
Remy's take
Remy was mostly unbothered by the broom, which is a glowing endorsement from a Lab who treats every object as either a toy or a threat. He did chase it a few times mid-sweep, which made the job take longer but was objectively more entertaining.
Worth buying?
Yes. If you have a dog that sheds and carpet that holds onto it, this is the move. It is around $20, it works better than our vacuum on embedded hair, and it pulls double duty on hardwood. Check out our BLACK+DECKER roller review if you need something for furniture and clothes too.
