FURemover Pet Hair Broom: Remy's Test Notes

Tested on thick carpet, thin carpet, and hardwood floors. As of June 2026, this $20 rubber broom is pulling out hair that our vacuum walks right past, and it doubles as a regular floor broom.

🦴
Remy approved, beats the vacuum on carpet

The rubber bristles dig into carpet pile and pull out embedded Lab hair in a way no vacuum we have tried can match. Lightweight, cheap, and it actually works.

What we tested

As of June 2026, we tested the FURemover rubber broom on three surfaces where Remy's shedding does the most damage. The thick carpet in the living room was the main event because that is where hair hides deepest. We also ran it across a low-pile area rug and the hardwood hallway where fur tumbleweeds like to collect.

🟫
Thick carpet
Best surface for this broom. Rubber bristles pulled out embedded Lab hair that our vacuum had already cleaned.
▫️
Thin or low-pile carpet
Works great. Less effort needed than thick pile, and hair clumps up fast.
🪵
Hardwood floors
Collects fur into a neat line without scattering it like a regular broom.

What worked

The FURemover rubber broom does something a vacuum cannot. The bristles grip the carpet fibers and drag hair up from the base of the pile. Hair rolls into a clump you can pick up.

It is also lightweight. The 58-inch telescopic handle means no hunching, and at around $20 it costs less than a single vacuum filter replacement.

What did not work

Deep-cleaning thick carpet is a workout. Getting the rubber bristles far enough into heavy pile to pull out embedded hair takes real back-and-forth pressure. On hardwood it is effortless. The carpet effort is the trade-off for how well it works there.

Remy's take

Remy was mostly unbothered by the broom, which is a glowing endorsement from a Lab who treats every object as either a toy or a threat. He did chase it a few times mid-sweep, which made the job take longer but was objectively more entertaining.

Worth buying?

Yes. If you have a dog that sheds and carpet that holds onto it, this is the move. It is around $20, it works better than our vacuum on embedded hair, and it pulls double duty on hardwood. Check out our BLACK+DECKER roller review if you need something for furniture and clothes too.
